Kwa Falls offers a breathtaking view of falling waters, lush tropical vegetation, and a serene atmosphere. The waterfall is located in Anegeje village in Akamkpa LGA in Cross River State and is an extension of the Kwa River.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable escape into nature, this enchanting waterfall is an ideal location—just 42.8 kilometers from Millennium Park (Eleven Eleven Roundabout).
Things to do at the Kwa Waterfalls
- Hike down a 234-step staircase to the riverbed of the waterfall for the best view—counting the steps as you walk can be oddly satisfying.
- Enjoy the scenic view of flowing waters at the feet of the waterfall—also a perfect place for drone shots and pictures.
- Prepare for more hiking, rock climbing, and burning of calories while making your way along the riverbed to enjoy the full-length view of the river.
- Enjoy a little picnic with food and drinks on the rocky side of the riverbed, so prepare beforehand.
- If you’re an experienced swimmer, immerse yourself in the crystal-clear plunge pool at the base of the falls.

Visiting tips
The best time to visit Kwa Waterfall is during the dry season. This ensures that you can get a full and up-close view of the waterfall. While visiting during the rainy season enhances the waterfall’s flow, it may also make access more challenging due to increased water levels.
Additionally, it’s important to avoid wearing any slippery footwear and too much baggage due to the steep terrain.
